Rajshahi : At least five people including a man and his son-in-law were killed in separate two road accidents in the district on Wednesday morning.

At least three people were killed and five other were injured in a road accident in front of Keshorehat Cold Storage around 11.30am.

According to sources, a Rajshahi-bound truck from Naogaon hit an engine van, leaving a Jahangir Alam (35), a college teacher in Pakuria area of Mohanpur. Another two died on way to hospital.

Another road accident near Rajshahi on Wednesday morning, Mizanur Rahman (50), a man of Nochole upazila in Chapainawabganj, and his son-in-law Nazmul Haque (30) were killed. The both were cloth traders.

According to sources, they were returning home with a pick-up van after buying clothes from Shajadpur in Pabna. A speedy truck hit their pick-up van near Moslem More of Katakhali, leaving them critically injured.

They were immediately taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, but the duty doctors declared Nazmul dead. Later Mizanur Rahman died there.

The truck was seized but the driver managed to flee.
