CC Desk: International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) awarded death sentence to Patuakhali Razakar Forkan Mallik for his crimes against humanity committed during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.

 A three-member bench of ICT-2 headed by its Chairman Justice Obaidul Hassan passed the order on Thursday morning.

Of the five charges, three have been proved against the 63-year-old razakar commander. The charges include murder, rape, abduction and forced conversion during the 1971 Liberation War in Mirzaganj upazila.
On June 25 last year, the Detective Branch of police arrested Forkan, now 63, at Rupatali Bus Stand in Barisal. He was later shown arrested in the war crimes case.

An investigation agency of the international crimes tribunals completed investigation into the allegations against him on October 27 the same year.
