After Chittagong, BNP-endorsed mayor candidates in two Dhaka city corporations have also pulled out of polls alleging large-scale rigging.
BNP Standing Committee member Moudud Ahmed announced the decision at a media conference several hours after voting started on Tuesday.
The party-backed Dhaka North candidate Tabith Awal and South’s aspirant Mirza Abbas’ wife Afroza were with Moudud.
Earlier, BNP-supported Chittagong mayor candidate M Manjur Alam boycotted the polls raising similar allegations.
