Police have detained a BNP activist along with his five aides for manipulating voters ahead of the upcoming city polls by giving them money in the capital on Monday.
Of the detainees, one was identified as Sharfin, a BNP activist while identification of others could not be known immediately after the detention.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media centre confirmed the detention on Monday noon.
Mirpur Thana police seized them with Tk. 3 lakh when they were in buying votes on behalf of BNP-supported Dhaka North mayor aspirant Tabith Awal.
